I am a long time golfer. I've always loved the game and love watching it being played. I never miss a major start to finish. I am currently 54 years old but started golfing probably when I was 9 or 10. My Grandad started me early and I got the bug.
I became a pretty good golfer in my teens but was horribly inconsistent. I was able to occasionally break 80 on easy courses but more often than not I was high 80s to 90s or more. I could follow up back to back birdies with back to back quadruple bogies quite easily. Golf however was a hobby and when life happened golf was put on the backburner. First university, then work, then marriage and kids. By the time I started to get some free time to golf I'm in my mid 40s and the game was a shambles. Maybe you can relate.
I was lucky that I never lacked distance so that was still there in the mid 40s but the inconsistency only got worse with only playing 5 or 10 times a year.
Now why the Blog. I've been on a bit of a mission the last 8 - 10 years in working on my game. I've made some good progress over the last few years and last year at 53 was my best year of golf ever with my Handicap briefly hitting 6. (I never kept a handicap most my life but safe to say it was minimum 12 to 14). At a minimum this blog is just viewed by me as documentation of some of the most valuable videos, drills and training aids I've used. But it may be valuable for others.
Granted all swings are different and golfers are all dealing with their own faults or issues but most of these vides and tips are on the fundamentals and can help anyone.
So I hope if someone other than myself is reading this blog you find some valuable information. I won't be providing anything new or anything that isn't already available to you online, I'm not a PGA pro after all. But some of this stuff is gold and you just won't accidentally find some of these golf tips or golf drills unless you are lucky.
Lets see where this takes us.
Thanks for reading and feel free to ask any questions. If I've seen a video or tip that can help you I'll send it to you or put it in a blog post.
Picture above is the The Quail Golf course in Kelowna where I have a vacation condo. Love it.
